CU DISBURSES EMPLOYEES’ 3 MONTH ARREARS

Mrs. Josephine Janteh

DESPITE THE PREVAILING ECONOMIC CHALLENGES IN THE COUNTRY

The administration of Cuttington University has made disbursements of three months arrears to employees of the institution, despite the prevailing economic challenges across the country. As it has now become a public outcry, both in the public and private sectors, many institutions across the country are finding it extremely difficult to meet their full obligations, especially in terms of making payments of salaries of their staff or employees.

In the midst of these circumstances, however, the CU Administration has not reneged on its responsibility; as the administration has been very committed to providing the needs of workers of the institution in terms of salary payments. This is sufficiently evident by the recent disbursement of employees’ back- pay for three straight months.

In a brief conversation recently with the University’s PR team, CU President, Dr. Herman B. Browne, highlighted that despite the current economic challenges confronting everyone nationally, Cuttington remains committed to doing what is best in the interest of the University and its workers. He noted, “At the moment, everybody considers with their own sense of experience what is happening; yet, the administration of Cuttington University will continue to do her best to put smile on the faces of all employees of the institution, even if all seems not to be going well elsewhere.”

Dr. Browne used the occasion to alert workers of the University to significantly recognize the constraints that institutions everywhere around the country are presently faced with, stressing that it is not Cuttington alone that currently has financial constraints.

At the same time, the CU Boss praised employees of the University for their tremendous support, sacrificial service, and the level of cooperation in the stability of the institution. He further maintained, “Your work as employees of Cuttington; whether staff or faculty, will never go unnoticed. The University deeply recognizes all that you do; therefore, you should continue to do your best in the interest of CU.”

In a related development, the Head of the Janitorial Section of the Building and Grounds Department of Cuttington University, Mrs. Josephine Janteh, has lauded the CU Administration for the lump sum payments of the three month arrears made to employees of the institution.

She is quoted as saying, “Indeed, I was very happy when I received the news about our three months’ arrears, and am grateful to our President, Dr. B. for having seen reasons to pay us for the three months that we have not been paid.”
