CU inducts new corps officials

The Cuttington University Student’s Union CUSU in Suakoko Bong County Friday October 25 inducted new corps of officials.

Speaking during the ceremony the president of the University Dr. Herman B. Browne cautioned the inducted leadership to serve the institution with passion.

According to Dr. Browne student’s leadership paths the way for national leadership and as such urged the council headed by its President Lee T. Mason to consider the confidence imposed in him by the students as a call to serve appreciated their dialogue approach to common matters the University faces.

For his part the president of the Cuttington Student Union CUSU, Lee T. Mason lauded the students for the confidence imposed in him as council president of the University.

He then promised to buttress the effort of the administration of Cuttington in Bong County in providing the needed atmosphere for learning.

Mason explains that during his regime he will lobby with the University Administration, Faculty, Board of Trustees and the County authorities to achieve their goals.

“We will improve students health and education services, consider some needed facilities like updating the school’s library with much needed and sufficient books that will meet the growing number of students and current information the world is seeking” the CUSU president concluded.

Serving as keynote speaker of the induction ceremony the Executive Management Consultant of the National Port Authority Civicus Siokin Barsi-Giah has urged students of Cuttington University in Suakoko District to stand up and be the light that will twinkle for the University.

Barsi-Giah who proxy for his boss Dr. Bill Twehway at the induction ceremony of the 17th Student Legislative Council admonished the SLC leaders to serve with respect for authority.

Mr. Barsi-Giah said without an education, one cannot achieve anything.

He said, many Liberians are not performing to the hopes of the employers in society because they did not get the right kind of education.

Mr. Civicus Siokin Barsi-Giah said if one is fully educated, they will always see unlimited possibilities in every difficult situation.

He told this paper that since the appointment of Dr. Herman Browne as president of the university several academic programs for students of the three campuses have been improved.

Those inducted include, Lee T. Mason President, Prince V. Tuly Vice President amongst others.
